Now the Full Tower case is a rarity in manufacturers announcements. Despite this, many of us still want to get at our disposal a huge box with a bunch of space and seats for fans. The last time we talked about computer monsters in Gamery No. 5/22 in the Cooler Master Storm Trooper test. Today we have another reason: AeroCool Strike X St Black has finally arrived at the editorial office.

This model is supplied in a huge box with a height of almost 80 cm, 73 cm long and a total weight of 18 kg. Nothing interesting inside. The case itself, laid with a thick layer of polystyrene, and a thin assembly instruction – no stickers and other pleasant little things for you. However, this is not required for the system for the system, and even more so from this.

In the reduction of ST, Aerocool Marketer has encrypted Super Tower, and for our part we are ready to subscribe to each letter of this definition. Strike X ST is unrealistically large – 70x23x63.5 cm. And if you put it on complete wheels (in Aerocool, they realized that it is completely equipped with 20 kg completely equipped with a makhin on rollers than to carry on their hands), then it will rise to the impressive 68 cm.

Where to place this huge one will have to decide independently, but it seems to us that the right choice will be to “cram under the table”, since all the control elements are located on the roof. Here and a pair of USB 2 ports.0 and USB 3.0, two 3.5 mm jack for headphones and a microphone, as well as Reobas for managing three fan groups. The vertically elongated buttons of turning on and rebooted are located nearby – the right line of the front panel. The lack of a loved one in Aerocool has been compensated by a hundredfold: behind the cooling regulators there is a compartment for a hot connection of 3.5- or 2.5-inch drives with SATA interface. During inaction, the "receiver" is closed by two spring -loaded sashs.

As for the appearance, the design of the body is controversial. The design was somewhat reminded by the locations from Doom 3, when the developers were actively fond of the cosmically chopped edges and a bunch of protrusions generously flavored with shader effects. If it was executed in metal, we would say “wow!", But, unfortunately, the main decor material is not the highest quality plastic, so the design looks, frankly, not very attractive. However, this opinion is subjective and someone, on the contrary, is such a pile of details only in joy.

Hangar

To assemble a system in Strike X ST, you will have to remove both side covers. Inside, everything is made of black steel painted in black, sharp corners are perfectly polished and bent for reliability in order not to cut the fingers. A huge non -removable pallet is highlighted under the motherboard, which is ready to accept even immense server models. Note that a neckline is made on the rack for hot replacement of processor coolers with fastening through the support on the back of the socket.

For expansion cards in Strike X ST, ten compartments closed by standard strips were prepared. As with motherboards, boards of any length will be freely placed in the case, the maximum size is limited to 430 mm.

An interesting approach to the power supply here. It is allowed to be located both from below and from above. In this case, there will be no extra holes on the rear panel, for the unused hole there is a special plug. Which one to use will depend on the chosen configuration. If a powerful computer with several video cards is assembled, then it is better to fasten the power supply under the ceiling, otherwise it will block the access of fresh air to the lower boards. Otherwise, you can put it on the bottom, the benefit of the ventilation grilles is more here, and there is a dustproof grid.

Hard disks are placed on a vertical rack into which up to ten devices. Fixing HDD is proposed in the baskets facing the "face" to the user. The slot is stretched for two plastic "ears". The hard drive is attached to it in the old fashioned way-with the help of four bolts on the sides for 3.5 inch models and through the holes at the bottom for 2.5-inch samples. After fixing, the box must be returned back and pushed to the click. By the way, the wiring is started on the back and to each piece of iron you need to pull your pair.

But with discs everything is not so rosy. To fit a huge amount of HDD, I had to reduce the number of compartments to four pieces. The drives are installed simply: remove the decorative plug, push it to the stop and fix the plastic latch on the left side, for fidelity you can still screw a couple of bolts. Immediately, we note that in 5.25-inch sockets nothing but standard devices (for example, another basket for hard drives), it will not fit-the fan control board is interfered, located behind the compartments.

Cooling system in Strike X ST – separate song. We have not yet met any model for such a flexible configuration. The case comes with three turntables. The first, 200-mm at a speed of 700 rpm, stands on the front part, closed with a fine-fingered metal grate and blowing the lower compartments for hard drives. The second, the same, settled on the roof and works on blowing. The third, 140 mm, 1500 rpm, works on the back wall and throws hot air outside the box. In principle, this should be enough for any computer above the average level. However, for the top options, Aerocool allows you to expand the capabilities of the box and use additional fans, under which there are 19 more (!) seats.

Yes, we were not mistaken – Strike X is designed for 21 turntables. The bulk is proposed to be placed on the left side cover. Here, on a huge grille, nine 120 mm twins will stand at once. Three more are screwed to the bottom, and one to the right sidewall, opposite the processor socket. Under the ceiling there is a space under the second 200-mm windmill, and on the rear wall of the rack under the HDD-two mounts under the 140-mm "Carlsons". If you count, then with the standard system you get 19 fans. Where the promised "21 pieces"? To do this, you will have to get rid of the complete winds: in return for one 200-mm, a pair of 120 mm impeller is squeezed.

Of course, to occupy all seats is not necessary. There will be no particular effect of excess pressure, but by noisiness, the set, most likely, will surpass a light -engine aircraft. Much better – point application. For example, you see that the video card is very warming – put the impeller nearby, and the situation improves. HDD became hard-a couple of 140 mm twists, and there are no problems. In general, the options are a wagon and a small cart. By the way, three plates with contacts are highlighted under the turntables, each of which is ready to accept up to six devices and control their rotation speed. Note that the model under consideration is also designed for its: water blocks and pumps will be placed both inside and outside.

Large refrigerator

We tested the case according to the standard scheme. The motherboard was based on the basis Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R. As a processor, they chose a four -core Intel Core i7-920 with a decent level of heat emission of 130 watts. They put it to cool Cooler Master V6. RAM was scored by three strips Kingston Hyperx DDR3-1666 MHz. The role of the video card was a reference Nvidia GeForce GTX 690. The operating system was installed on Kingston SSDNOW volume of 64 GB. All this was eaten from the block Hiper K900 , located on the bottom. We had no complaints about the assembly process. In such a huge box, a computer is a pleasure to collect a computer. Perhaps the only thing to really cling to is the absence of guides under the BP.

Our test itself consisted of two stages. First froze the temperature of the stone at an open stand, and then inside the box. To recommend Strike X St Black, only one detail interferes with an urgent purchase – an ambiguous appearance that will not fit into every room. For all other parameters, we are really “superbank” in front of us. There is so much space that is enough not only on the game machine, but also on a small HTPC. And the cooling system is generally beyond praise. Did not fail and the price. In Russian retail for this monster, about 7600 rubles are asked – it is true for such a wealth of possibilities.
